If you have never made it at home, here’s how I whip the most delicious yogurt mint sauce in just 5 minutes!

Best Indian Yogurt Dip Recipes

This is the most classic version of the Indian Yogurt mint Sauce – it includes Yogurt, mint, coriander, spice from green chili, zing from lemon juice, and cumin powder. This yogurt mint dip and the tamarind sauce are best alongside your appetizers, Naan bread, and even your pilau rice or biryani!

Supermarkets like Tesco do sell this dip in the name of Raita Sauce and Raita Dip. But honestly, it is easier to whip a Quick Mint Sauce at home, rather than going to the supermarket. And homemade ones taste 100 times better any day!

It is so quick and easy to make and you only need 5 minutes at hand. Serve it instantly or chill them covered in the refrigerator if you are serving later on.

This restaurant-style yogurt sauce is really versatile that you can adjust the ingredients and flavours to suit your liking. With simply 5 minutes in hand, you can whip up the most delicious mint yogurt dip.

Like extra heat in your mint sauce, you can add another green chilli or jalapenos. If you don’t have either, spice it with dried chilli flakes and ground black pepper – but the flavors will be different.

If you have a store-bought Mint Sauce jar at home, then you can make this dip super quick. Simply stir 2 tablespoons of the mint sauce into 1 cup of full-fat yogurt, stir vigorously and adjust the salt & sugar accordingly.

LEMON JUICE – Fresh Lemon Juice adds the zing to the Chutney and they are a must. You can substitute for Lime Juice too.

GROUND CUMIN POWDER – You can use store-bought or make them at home with my recipe for Ground Cumin. Just need 2 minutes.

SUGAR – Adds a hint of sweetness to the light green sauce. If you are not a fan of the sweetness, simply leave it out.

Do not add the Yogurt to the blender along with the remaining ingredients. Your Dip will turn out really thin and watery.

First blend the fresh herbs along with green chilli, salt, sugar, and garlic ( if using any ) and add it to yogurt.

If you do not have a blender at hand, use store bought mint sauce. Swirl the sauce into the yogurt along with 1/2 garam masala powder , 1/4 tsp chilli powder, lemon juice, salt & sugar. Whisk together and serve.

If you have some homemade coriander mint chutney at hand, make this sauce instantly. Swirl 2 – 3 tablespoon of the chutney into the yogurt, adjust the seasoning, and squeeze in a little lemon juice. Tadaa…. your Instant Indian Yogurt Sauce ready in just 2 minutes.

Making this Raita Dip will only take you 2 minutes. To 1 cup of yogurt, add 2-3 tsp of store-bought mint sauce, 1/4 tsp cumin powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala, salt to taste, 1/4 tsp caster sugar, lemon or lime juice, and 1/4 tsp chilli powder.

Since the store-bought mint sauce lacks heat, you’ll need to add chilli powder for spiciness. Avoid substituting it with paprika powder as it will alter the sauce’s color. Taste and adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Indian Mint Sauce Just Like The Take Away Version!

This fresh and cool mint sauce is a real deal – just like the ones from the restaurant. It is brilliant with almost everything. It is usually served with popadoms, samosa, kachori, and appetizers in Indian restaurants.

They are delicious along with Flatbreads, on top of your vegetable or lamb burgers, and even as a spread in your sandwich.

The Three Main Sauces served are this Yogurt mint Sauce, Tamarind Chutney and Mango Chutney. Apart from these, they also serve cold onion chutney and mango/ mixed vegetable pickle! Some restaurants also serve Cucumber raita instead of this yogurt sauce.

A crowd-friendly appetizer recipe that is so addictive!

Indian Food Condiments: Sauce And Chutney Recipes

You know that a dip is the first thing to go out at a party. I mostly make this Spinach Jalapeno dip and Mexican 7-layers party dip in rotation. But my new favorite is this masala corn dip. Ever since I made it for my Galentine’s Day party, I am hooked. If you are looking for a delicious dip to serve at your next get-together consider making this desi version. I am sure everyone is going to love it.

The ingredients used to make this dip are mostly pantry and fridge staples. Corn is something that I always have in my freezer. Cream cheese, sour cream, spices, and cheese are always there at home. There is not much chopping involved in this dip. Onion and bell peppers are optional, but lends a lot of flavor and crunch to the dip.

I have used a frozen variety of corn. The first one is yellow sweet corn and another is already roasted sweet corn.

The roasted corn is a game-changer in any recipe and the convenience of frozen ones available is a bonus. You will find both of these in any leading grocery store freezer section.

A flavor bomb for anything. You may skip green chilies if it is too spicy for you but please add garlic to the dip.

Pav Bhaji masala lends a striking Indian flavor to this dip. When it comes to the Indian spice masala blend, I simply adore Pav Bhaji masala. It can immediately brighten any bland meal. You definitely want to use it. Other spices used are red chili powder and black pepper.

Easy Indian Condiments

Just a little goes a long way. As I have used tomato puree I added some heavy cream to avoid any curdling of cream cheese later on.

A block of full-fat Philadelphia cream cheese is used. You may use any available brand. Whipped cream cheese spread should be fine as well.

Exciting ways to use the dip. Eat this masala corn dip warm or cold, it tastes amazing both ways. If you have leftovers, stuff it in a grilled sandwich or spread it over a tortilla and make roll-ups like these. Either way, it tastes amazing.
